"Watching Place" - This modern tree dwelling is the place to experience the airiness of life up among the trees. The Souhegan Tree Dwelling is perched atop a 21-acre wooded hill sloping to dramatic river views and conservation land. It features a wood-fired cedar hot tub 18’ up and accessed by a rope bridge from the primary structure. You will find a Scandinavian gas fireplace in the master bedroom and radiant heat in the floors.
Souhegan is composed of three connected structures (all private to you):
1) The first structure is contains a master bedroom on the second floor, with a wall of south facing windows affording stunning river views; includes king size bed (or two twin beds upon request); on the first floor is a small kitchen and dining area (with large windows for water views), a small full bathroom, and a screened-in porch with rockers and river views.
Kitchen includes: two-burner stove, sink, small fridge, pots, pans, dishes, toaster oven (no regular oven) and, importantly, a cork screw!
2) The second structure is a convertible space with a wall of water-facing windows. UPON REQUEST: Upon request, we can set it up as a second bedroom (with either King size bed or two twins) or we can set it up as a living room space with sofas and coffee table. There is a water-facing veranda off the front.
3) The third structure holds a wood-fired cedar hot tub upon a stand-alone deck with river views.
Canoes and kayaks are available at no cost upon request.

Heaven in the trees!
What a magical special place! Our family of 4 enjoyed every minute of our stay. The accommodation were cozy but so beautiful. It our oldest birthday & Tiffany did a wonderful job decorating from gorgeous wild flowers to yummy cupcakes. We can't recommend it enough. This is where memories are made 🌲🫶🏽🎉
The Goldthwaites
We thoroughly enjoyed our getaway at Souhegan. We love Midcoast Maine and always find a good hike or two in the area! After a day of exploring trails, returning back to the dwelling for the relaxation experience of a lifetime in the wood fired hot tub felt luxurious, sending us into a deep sling the mot comfortable bed! We shall return once again!!
Wonderful little get away
Went here with a couple of friends and we had a great time! Check in was easy and Ida had very good communication. The treehouse was clean and peaceful. We will def be back!
Anniversary Getaway
We were looking for somewhere special to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary and boy did we find it! Our stay at Souhegan was magical! We loved the hot tub, the views,and being in the trees. We explored the property and enjoyed having time to relax .My only regret is we were only there for two nights. I will be back!
Winter Solstice Weekend
We had a wonderful weekend at Seguin. We enjoyed the architecture and details of the tree dwelling and loved exploring the grounds and warming up in the hot-tub. Waking up each morning in the trees was spectacular. We will be back!
Ladies Trip
I have been dreaming of staying at Seguin for YEARS. I was so impressed by the hospitality, the spaces, the tub, the cleanliness, everything. It was private, no host checkin (not that I wouldn’t want to meet them). Directions were clear on using the space and it there are no excessive chores, like when you stay at an airbnb. I couldn’t recommend this enough and will be back.
A beautiful peaceful time at Souhegan
This was our second (annual) visit to Seguin Tree Dwellings. The treehouse is beautifully, simply, and peacefully decorated. The kitchen is nicely equipped. The bed is very comfortable and the oversized antique windows allowed us to feel fully emerged in the tree canopy even when we were inside. We saw a pair of Bald Eagles land in a tree in front of our treehouse while relaxing in the hot tub on more than one occasion. During the overnights, we enjoyed an owl hooting for just a few minutes from outside of our bedroom. Three beautiful nights in the hot tub immersed in nature allowed us to completely unplug and relax. You can cook on the grill or stovetop or do what we did this year and get dinner take out in nearby Bath and enjoy eating back at the peaceful treehouse. If you like visiting the ocean, you might consider visiting Reid State Park walking along the rocks and beach, exploring Giants Stairs Trail on Bailey island. Absolutely Beautiful! Our tree dwelling get away experience was amazing. We hope to come again year after year!
Time Moves More Slowly Here
A perfect stay for four nature lovers in need of a relaxing getaway. I'm already wondering when we might get a chance to do this again and which season to experience it in. There is little that could have made this any better. We soaked, played board games, explored, and soaked some more. Never have two nights truly felt longer than they were. If there was anything to add for future stays it would just be small items of personal preference. For me, that'd be my own pillows, which I forgot, and an eyemask, which came along.
A sunny day in February
Our Anniversary was magical spending it here in the treehouse. The hottub was wonderful and the views were breathtaking. We had a bonfire and slept in. We would recommend this place to anyone. We will be back ❤
Perfect Getaway
Stayed in Souhegan for a brief getaway by myself in January. What a great place to slow down and collect your thoughts. It was perfect for me - quiet, beautiful views, the hot tub was amazing. I really appreciated the second building living space; I relaxed in there for most of my stay (in between hot tub sessions!). 5 Stars - Just took two nights to completely reset myself!
